Hi, I’m hoping to secure tickets to either the Colosseum attic or underground in a few days when they come available 30 days before my intended visit to Rome.
I read that when you purchase tickets that you have to enter your passport details - my issue is that my passport is currently being renewed and I won’t receive it before the day this week when I want to purchase the tickets, so the passport number that I’ll enter will be different to passport I’ll be travelling with, and I hear that they check passports at the gate on entry.
How can I get around this? Can you select to put your drivers licence details in instead? I’m travelling from Australia so not sure if international licence numbers would be permitted if that’s the case. Should I bring my old and new passport to the Colosseum when I visit and will that be accepted?
I’ve been to Rome many times but not in 8 years and this will be my first time trying for the attic/underground. Have read all the threads on securing tickets so cross your fingers for me.
