Hi all,

I have read a lot online about how boats with full or modified full keels aren't as good going upwind as fin keel boats. My question is, how big is the no-go zone? Of course every boat is different and it massively depends on conditions etc. But is it really the case that you basically have to just creep up wind tacking constantly, or can you more or less get onto a decent close reach?

Any input welcome. I'm an experience powerboater and merchant seaman, just a bit new to sailing yachts.
