Gigsky not for cruises
I just finished my first transatlantic cruise with 8+ sea days and was thrilled to try out the Gigsky 'cruise only' wifi. Does not work. At all. My ship, the Celebrity Ascent, was on the list for functionality. But zip. And oh, I tried, and before I retired I worked in IT, so I know a little about computers and how these things work. It worked when I was in ports. Azores, going thru Gibraltar and going near Palma it grabbed cellular and I could check email and texts. It worked in Spain and Italy.
But NOT AT SEA. So I know it wasn't my logon or some incompatibility.
Celebrity allows passengers to buy 24 hours of wifi once the cruise is underway, which is what I had to do for $50, but certainly cheaper than $35 per day for 14 days.
I didn't pay for it, so maybe this is WAA-whaaan. But it was disappointing. I'll use next year's freebie on a land trip.
