Hello! I am thinking of starting a freshwater, planted, community tank and I need help. I’ve only kept bettas and tetras in the past but does anyone have advice on good fish and plants for a beginner to start with? For context, I love snakes so I’d love fish that look snake-like. I also want it to be wetland/swamp themed if possible. I’m not sure how big I want it yet (maybe a 50 gallon), but I’m open to any suggestions.
Fish I was thinking of adding are ropefish, kuhli loaches, red devil angelfish and maybe some type of barb.
