Hi guys. I wanted to ask if anyone else is dealing with this or has advice. Just for context I’ve had bad allergies my whole life. Super bad seasonally (5++ to almost every tree and weed) and also a lot of food allergies. My food allergies have never triggered anaphylaxis but my immunotherapy did when I was younger (I went into anaphylaxis after my weekly injection). So I had to stop immunotherapy.
Fast forward to now, almost 20 years later, and my stomach hurts basically all the time. (It hasn’t been good, ever, but it’s worse now). I thought it might be allergy-related so I did another allergy test as an adult and my food allergies have gotten worse. Majority of the hundreds of foods I was tested for are 4+ or above. They had to clean my back early bc my reactions were too strong. I’ve seen multiple gastroenterologists abt my stomach issues and they seem to think the allergy issues are unrelated and that food allergies only mean itchy throat/hives/vomiting/other more typical presentations. My allergist said they could fs be connected but that the research is still ongoing into stomach/allergen connection and relationship. As of now, if I follow my allergy list, I p much can’t eat anything beyond eggs, chicken, turkey, rice, and a few random fruits and vegetables. And idk if this is possible, but I think my reactiveness to foods is worse on high pollen count days where I’m outside a lot.
I wanted to ask if anyone had advice on what to do. Is my only option really to just eat a hyper-restrictive diet? My current work sched is too intense to start doing immunotherapy again, but does anyone have experience with that/did it help your stomach? Does anyone else have similar symptoms of painful gas/stomach aches from their allergies but without an itchy throat, trouble breathing etc? Does anyone have knowledge from their great allergist about food allergies and the connection to their stomach problems? I’ll really take any advice you have :,) thank you!!!!
