Fresh Ceramic Coat

I used gyeon can-coat. I used AI to remove the front license plate only.

This is a full teardown of the 2.0L engine in our Accord Hybrids. The design looks simple and well thought out. Too bad about the oil starvation.

He talks about how any kind of engine damage like this on a Hybrid will be much worse because after the engine fails, the electric motor will keep the car moving and tear it up more, not the engine wouldn't have failed anyway, but it was a interesting thing to know.

I'm reposting this with a photo of the part. It was attached with the top and bottom connected at the visible hole in both parts.

I have a 2.5L Turbo 2020 Mazda6. I was doing some maintenance and pulled out the air box. I saw that the intake tube has a bottom section that has broken off.

This is the part https://www.mazdaswag.com/oem-parts/mazda-inlet-duct-pyml13200

Compare it to the 2.5 N/A version https://www.mazdaswag.com/oem-parts/mazda-engine-air-intake-hose-py0113200a

The extra section on the bottom compared to the N/A version is a separate piece that has a sort of rubbery material holding it together. Mine was just hanging on by a thread. I hadn't noticed any power loss, but it was clearly taking in warm air from the engine.

I'm curious what the section does, but mainly I was looking for advice on how to reattach it. It has just a small round section where it hooks together. I can just plastic weld it it, but that would put all the force or whatever air pressure or water entering onto the epoxy. Maybe I can get a piece of hose to put between the sections, or find some kind of clamps since it has a small ring molded in the plastic around the edges.

Has anyone run into this? The part is $75. I thought about just buying a whole new one, but I'm wondering if the part is fragile and will likely break again.
