▲ 6 r/snails

I recently set up a new aquarium, and while transferring my two snails, I dropped the smallest one. :( I read online they can recover, so I set him a smaller container to see if he would pull through. Next morning, he was active and I returned him to the tank. Since then, he has flipped a 180 in the shell and is crawling around through the HOLE IN THE BACK OF THE SHELL. I’m conflicted, I think I should end it, but he’s got such will to continue? I’ve included a picture where you can see the normal shell entrance and what he’s done to himself. He’s attached to the rock in this picture. Am I overthinking it? He’s going to die right? No other critters in the tank.
