I am in zone 6B where the winter just wouldn't end. I have a raspberry that I didn't prune back in the fall. I now have a bunch of canes that fruited last year. They are at chest level. I wanted to prune them because I've read they are done producing altogether. However, I see a lot of leaves growing on them. They are about half to three-quarters up the plant now.

What does this mean? Do I have the ever-bearing variety? Should I even prune them at this point?
