Amazing gneiss sport climbing in Niederthai, Austria last weekend!

Niederthai is an interesting climbing area in the Ötztal. You're sport climbing on 16 huge gneiss boulders with up to 35 meter long routes. Due to it's slightly longer approach (20+ min), lack of easy routes and stiff grading it doesn't get nearly as crowded as some other top destinations. If you're at least a solid 7a climber I'd say it's one of the coolest crags in Austria.

I took my S9 as my only camera to go climbing in Cochamo, Chile and it worked great!

I took the Lumix 18-40 for most climbing and the 50 1.8 for some other shots. I also brought a 150-600 but obviously it wasn't a great match and I only used it in Basecamp.

The only downside was, that it isn't as weather proof and there it rains a lot so you need to be careful. And in the sun the screen is hard to see and you don't have a viewfinder.

But in the end I honestly regretted not bringing my S5ii for such a big trip. Dual memory slot is also important on a long trip.
