what colleges have good art programs that i should look into?

hello!! even after reading the rules, i am not sure if this post is appropriate for this subreddit, so i apologize in advance if it is not

im a junior in high school right now, and i need to start taking my college search more seriously, but im struggling to find schools suited to me by just googling my preferences. ive come here looking for recommendations on schools you think i should look into that loosely suit my wants! (they do not need to perfectly hit every mark)

Ive always been a very artsy person and that quality is significant to every part of my life, but i dont yet know what specific major i want to pursue. right now, im mostly interested in studio art, interior design, graphic design, and fashion design. i want to go to a school that offers good programs for at least two of these majors so that i have room to experiment and would be able to change majors without having to transfer schools. with interior design specifically, i want to go somewhere that treats it more as an art than as a science

my other preferences:

  • In state: i currently live in Austin, Texas, and while i don't love it here, I'm still considering staying close to home
  • Out of state: i would absolutely love to live in a rainier, cooler climate with more lush vegetation than Texas. (western) Washington State has been in my mind for a long time.
  • a primarily liberal/leftist political climate
  • Degrees: based on what i know, i would prefer to receive a Bachelor's of Fine Arts over a Bachelor's of Arts because my understanding is that it's a better quality degree and more impressive in the job market
  • Academics: i think ive always been a pretty academic person, and id like to go to a school where that meant something. ive always been a nerdy person with nerdy friendgroups, and im really passionate about everything that i do. i want to go to a school that supports that kind of passion with in depth academics
  • a high post-graduation employment rate in my desired majors is pretty important to me
  • i am honestly not very interested in attending a college exclusively dedicated to art (like RISD or CalArts) and would prefer a college/university with a solid art program instead. i am willing to reconsider, but i feel wary of the high costs and middle-school-esque social environment that i imagine

Thank you so much for any suggestions anyone offers!!!!

what colleges would be best for my unique preferences?

hi there!! apologies if anything ive done here isnt correct

  • a primarily liberal/leftist political climate
  • Majors: im interested in studying studio art, interior design (mostly those first two), fashion design, and graphic design, and id like to go to a school that would allow me to experiment with multiple of those before I made a final commitment
  • Degrees: based on what i know, i would prefer to receive a Bachelor's of Fine Arts over a Bachelor's of Arts because my understanding is that it's a better quality degree and more impressive in the job market
  • Academics: i think ive always been a pretty academic person, and id like to go to a school where that meant something. ive always been a nerdy person with nerdy friendgroups, and im really passionate about everything that i do. i want to go to a school that supports that kind of passion with in depth academics

it is super okay to suggest schools that have really high tuition costs or likely wouldnt accept an applicant like me because im just looking for colleges to add to my list right now, even unrealistic ones, but if you would like to know for your suggestions, heres some info about me!

  • 1360 SAT
  • 3.72 and 4.27 GPA
  • AP World History, AP Environmental Science, AP Lang (not counting classes ill take next year)
  • Graphic Design Practicum
  • Standard art classes
  • Choir classes (in Varsity Treble during the day and in Show Choir and Varsity Mixed before school in the mornings)
  • Founded and lead the National Art Honor Society chapter at my school
  • in NHS

(if you also have any input on how solid my application looks on the surface right now, i would also be happy to hear!)

Thank you so much for any suggestions anyone offers!!!!
