I’ve been on diamox for about 8 months. Getting adjusted was hard and I had a lot of digestive issues at first. At the 4 month mark, things got a lot better. I felt energy returning and my stomach was doing fine. At my 6 month check in my doctor felt positive I could come off it at the 9 month mark. My IIH symptoms have been in check.
Here is my new problem. Since my 6 month check in, my digestive health has seriously deteriorated. I’m having near constant diarrhea, and when I’m not I’m bloated and constipated. It has been 8 weeks of this. Is it normal to go back to this after your body “adjusts” to diamox? Do you think I ca just hang in there for 4 more weeks until my 9 month appointment to hopefully get off?
Any advice helps. I drink plenty of water, sometimes with buoy electrolytes. I don’t drink and maintain a fairly consistent, healthy diet.
