800+ Anime with completed stories / fully adapted source material

Hey everyone,

I’ve been working on an AniList list that collects anime with completed stories, or anime that fully adapt their source material.

You can find the list here:
https://anilist.co/user/Kyonic/animelist/Completed%20Anime

The idea was to create a list for people who want to watch anime without ending up stuck halfway through the story. So the list mainly includes anime where:

  • the manga has been fully adapted
  • the light novel has been fully adapted
  • another completed source has been fully adapted
  • or the anime is an original work with a completed story

I used this website as one of the main sources while building the list:
https://wheredoestheanimeleaveoff.com/

In most cases, I only include the first/main entry of an anime so the franchise is represented without listing every single season, OVA, or special separately. There are some exceptions, though, where separate entries made sense for me. Such as Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z.

My goal is to keep the list updated automatically whenever new anime fully adapt their source material or otherwise reach a completed story.

The list is probably not perfect. If you notice any mistakes or think something is missing, please let me know. Corrections and suggestions are very welcome. =)

Hi I’m looking for some help finding specific lists on Trakt, MDBList, or even MAL that focus exclusively on anime with a conclusive story (or are either fully adapted/have an Anime Original Ending)

I've spent quite some time searching on my own but only found incomplete/outdated Lists.

Does something like this even exist?^^
