German Novel about growing up with Rocky Horror in Bavaria

Hi there. I`m Philipp, born and raised in Germany, still living in Munich!

I spend the last 6 years writing a German Novel about my childhood and Rocky Horrors impact on my life.

It`s called »Rosa ist die Welt mit tiefblauen Flecken«:

What if a night at The Rocky Horror Show cracked something open in you that had been sealed shut for decades?

That's where my debut novel »Rosa ist die Welt mit tiefblauen Flecken« (Rose tints the World with Deep Blue Bruises) begins.

Journalist Johannes attends a Rocky Horror production the day after his grandmother's funeral – reluctant, exhausted, ready to hate every sequin-covered second of it. Instead, somewhere between the flying toilet paper and the opening notes of Science Fiction / Double Feature, the walls come down. And suddenly he's back: a kid in rural Bavaria in the 1980s, a Walkman shared with his best friend, a VHS tape watched in secret, a world he didn't yet have the words for.

Rocky Horror has been the unlikely thread running through Johannes' life – not as liberation, but as a recurring test. A show that made promises the world hadn't yet kept.

🎭 If you love The Rocky Horror Show – the camp, the chaos, and everything underneath it – this one's for you.

📖 Available on Amazon Kindle.
