Anyone Else Find It Difficult To Get Into NFS Unbound?

I have tried several times to get info NFS Unbound and enjoy the game. I just can't though, because of the gameplay. Having to drift to go around corners is so painfully awful in this game to the point I don't feel in control. And let me make it clear, I don't automatically hate a NFS for game due to drifting around corners. I enjoyed Heat and Hot Pursuit 2010 was good as well. Something about it in Unbound though just doesn't feel good or enjoyable to do. It feels like I am fighting with the car to go around a corner.

Whilst it doesn't seem like a... great game in terms of music and story, those things don't matter to much to me. Music can be turned off, and the story isn't too invasive from what I have seen. Gameplay matters a lot more though and sadly, it just isn't good in this game.

I love NFS, but keep finding myself going back to the old games, with a big reason being the controls. Something I love about games like Underground and Carbon is getting that racing line when going around a track, being able to keep as much of your speed as possible when turning. There is something that feels so good about it, and I wish they would go back to that sort of control.

What I don't understand about NFS, especially with Unbound, is they seem very aware that the older games are more loved than the newer ones. Just in Unbound's case alone, there are constant callbacks to older games. Iconic cars from the Underground titles, Razor from Most Wanted, crew logos from Carbon, and so much more. If they know how much we love those games, surely they must understand that part of the reason why we do is the controls. So why not make the controls like that? It seems like common sense.
