Getting to my wit’s end here and would love some help.
Bit of context:
For the past year or so, I’ve enjoyed my UDR7 paired with a Netgear CM1000 and my Xfinity 1gb internet connection. However, I’m a video editor and need to upload lots of footage every week, and Xfinity’s upload speeds are ABYSMAL. Like 40mbps bad. It takes forever to upload 4K footage.
So I upgraded three days ago to their highest tier speed. It’s 2GB down and around 300mbps up. However, my CM1000 doesn’t support speeds that high, so I upgraded to a CM2500.
Two days ago, I plugged the new modem in and let it do its thing. Logged onto the admin panel and confirmed it was getting the signal properly and working. All the lights were white and solid.
But when I connect it to my UDR7, the router keeps saying that it can’t find the new signal. It seems to be locked into the old Xfinity signal or speed or something.
I’ve tried restarting both the modem and the router, I’ve gone into the UnFi panel and tried to create a new connection, I’ve switched ports, I’ve tried new Ethernet cables. Nothing seems to work.
I’m not super knowledgeable with networking—I know enough to get around and can tinker with my Raspberry Pi or my NAS when I have to. But for the life of me, it feels like any time I change anything at all, some little thing keeps causing massive issues that take me days to figure out.
Could really use some help with this. I think I don’t even know the questions to ask to get this figured out, and I’m trying to avoid my last ditch effort of factory resetting my UDR7 and losing all my settings and port forwards and stuff.
