We have a very energetic 16 week old Frenchton (French Bulldog x Boston Terrier).

We left him for less than an hour this morning in his 24” high pen. We have a camera, and check on him frequently, and on our last check, he was calmly sitting playing with a toy. This is only the third time we have left him, but the last couple times we had no issue.

Imagine our surprise when we came home to find him running down the hall to greet us. He somehow jumped the height of the pen AND managed to climbs stairs for the first time. Luckily, he didn’t get into anything or have an accident/injure himself.

We use a crate upstairs for bedtime and naps only that has a divider, but should we use another crate with a bit more space for when we leave instead of a pen? He’s doing so well sleeping in his other crate and I don’t want to confuse him by adding a second one.

If we do add a second one, what size should we buy? How much room should he have? His sleeping crate is 24 inches but we have 1/4 of it blocked off with a divider.

Meet Pippin, our 16 week old adorable troublemaker.
