Stab Vest Recommendations
Hi everyone. I currently work as a security guard, and one of my job duties at my location is to lock up public bathrooms and gates at a community park. There is sometimes unhoused people in the park and/or the bathrooms seeking shelter for the night. Our bylaw states that isn’t allowed at that particular park, so if they are there, I have to try to gain voluntary compliance and get them to leave the premises.
Obviously this comes with inherent risk, and my employer has provided me with a stab vest; however, it’s just a basic vest (don’t know the rating of it), and there’s no pockets/pouches, etc.
I’m looking to purchase my own, and I would love some recommendations on vests that do HAVE pockets or compartments to hold my stuff like my flashlight, Sonim site phone, notepad, etc. I despise carrying that stuff in my cargo pockets on my pants as it always feels like it’s pulling my pants down from the extra weight. It’s a nit-picky thing I know, but it’s what I’d prefer.
