Further protests in Crewe over the Ahmadi Religion of Peace and Light

This is becoming like a religious version of the "migrant hotels" protests, where hundreds of "concerned locals" (often right wing anti Muslim influencers not from the local area) would appear and intimidate migrants and hotel staff across the UK.

AROPL appear simply to be asking people to call the police (see attached), which appears surprisingly reasonable coming from them. Pity about the allegations of multiple exploitative and sex crimes.

It does make you wish there were a third "side" in all this, and I suppose there is one. It's the poor people of Crewe itself, who probably don't have a dog in this fight and who are having to watch it all happen.

Last night the Ahmadi Religion of Peace and Light were allowed back in to Webb House in Crewe, after police finished searching for evidence, presumably further to the claims of forced marriage, sexual abuse and rape made against AROPL.

The news of this attracted protestors, being reported as "concerned locals", and doubtless concerned locals are indeed present. But judging by the multiple live streams of the protests and chants of "paedos out", I'd say a fair number of them are actually anti Muslim right wing influencers and "citizen journalists", who in many cases don't know who or what AROPL are beyond hearing the word "Muslim" and going apoplectic.

What a depressing scenario. Talk about a fight where you're not really sure you want anyone to win.

Ok so here's my thing. I wanted to like this group. I'm not a Muslim, but I've always liked Islam as a religion, used to live in a Muslim country, and have Muslim friends.

I'm not an expert on Islamic teachings, but I know a little bit.

I wanted to like these people, Shi'a claimants who were liberal on all the things I agree with them on, LGBT rights etc.

But they weren't telling the truth, were they? They've hurt Muslims in general, and especially in the UK, and Shi'a more than anyone, and opened the door to the far right, wider than ever.

I've directly asked AROPL more than five times to deny the claims made against them. Modern slavery, sexual abuse, forced marriage.

Until the day I hear them as a group deny the claims made against them, stuff them.
