hey there, im currently 30 and really want to pursue a career in radiology. I’m in SoCal and the competition to enroll in a program at my community college is very strong. after taking my pre reqs I’d be able to apply for the program in fall of 2029. after that it could be a couple more years before I even get accepted into the program, and another 2 years of education after I get accepted.

I started looking into private programs like gurnick and Charles drew. it seems like I’d be able to transfer some general courses I’ve already taken and if I get accepted it would be 2 years of education and that’s all.

my question is at my age should I just get student loans to pay for the private education or spend the next 5-7 years of my life pursuing the community college route in HOPES I can get accepted into such a competitive environment.
