I cannot imagine a worse way of handling the virus than what was done

They just flew out around 150 people without PCR testing them all and now multiple have tested positive. 1 French person and 1 American as far as I know.

It takes over a month to show your first symptoms. It is absolutely ridiculous to not PCR test them upon their arrival in the canary islands.

For perspective, the fist two cases were infected around March 20, the Dutch man and woman. The Dutch man showed symptoms April 6. The Dutch woman showed symptoms April 24.

It seems ridiculous to fly these people around with NO TESTING unless they were symptomatic when symptoms appear 1 month after exposure and a 45% death rate.

Hantavirus symptoms dramatically reduced by Griffithsin

There are numerous reputable sources that published findings that Hantavirus is substantially reduced by Griffithsin. However, Griffithsin is not readily available and natural sources do not have clinically relevant doses of it, as it is a concentrated protein from red algae / Griffithsia.

The 2022 study on griffithsin (GRFT) and Hantaan virus infection found several specific effects in mice and cell culture.

The most important mouse finding was survival. Researchers infected 3-day-old suckling mice intracranially with a lethal dose of Hantaan virus (10 LD50). The virus was mixed with griffithsin before injection.

The outcomes were:

  • Control group (no griffithsin): all mice died between days 4 and 8 after infection.
  • Low-dose griffithsin (20 μg/mL, about 0.4 mg/kg): death was delayed, but most mice still died.
  • High-dose griffithsin (100 μg/mL, about 2 mg/kg): about 80% of mice survived the 10-day observation period.

The study concluded that griffithsin significantly improved survival in vivo.

To make the Pelican hover, leave extraction zone after 0:00 on the pelican timer

This seems to be a lost art and I've seen posts say you have to leave at 10 seconds but it's after the timer disappears after 0:00. You have a few seconds to leave.

  1. Call extraction
  2. Wait at the edge of the zone, where the red timer pops up to return to the extraction (if you trigger the red timer, the pelican timer pauses).
  3. Leave after 0:00 when the timer disappears. The pilot will give a voice cue.
  4. Don't return until you're ready to leave with your team. The pelican will wipe out basically any threat other than a hive lord.

This cannot be done if the match timer runs out. The pilot will land and give you 20 seconds to board.

April 1, 2026 — WHO later identified this as the relevant outbreak voyage period. About 150 passengers and crew aboard.

April 6, 2026 — 70-year-old Dutch man developed fever, GI symptoms, then respiratory illness aboard ship. First known case onset.

April 11, 2026 — Dutch man died aboard the ship from what was later identified as hantavirus pulmonary syndrome.

April 24, 2026 — Ship reached Saint Helena. Dead Dutch man removed from ship. His 69-year-old wife disembarked sick. About 23–24 other passengers also left the ship here before outbreak became public.

April 25, 2026 — Dutch woman medically flown from Saint Helena toward Johannesburg for treatment.

April 26, 2026 — Dutch woman died in South Africa. Andes strain confirmed later. Investigators began suspecting human-to-human spread aboard ship.

April 27, 2026 — British passenger evacuated from ship to Johannesburg ICU after developing severe illness.

April 28, 2026 — Additional passengers and crew developed symptoms. Latest known onset date among early cluster.

May 2, 2026 — German passenger died aboard ship. Third known fatality.

May 3, 2026 — Ship anchored off Praia, Cape Verde. Authorities allowed medical assistance but refused general passenger disembarkation. Most passengers remained confined aboard. WHO publicly announced suspected outbreak.

May 4, 2026 — WHO reported at least seven confirmed/suspected cases. Spain and WHO discussed Canary Islands docking plan.

May 5, 2026 — WHO said human-to-human transmission may have occurred. Countries began tracing passengers who had already left at Saint Helena and flown home internationally. Canary Islands regional government publicly opposed docking.

May 6, 2026 — Spain officially approved docking in the Canary Islands despite regional opposition. Ship departed Cape Verde area and began sailing toward Tenerife/Gran Canaria.

May 6, 2026 — Ship’s doctor and two crew members medically evacuated. Roughly 150 passengers and crew still aboard under isolation procedures.
