Hi,
I'm interested on fully hoping from Windows to Linux, I've done some testing on the past and used it in old hardware, but never fully used it on my main machine, so I have a few questions before trying to swap.
I have a few things clear, one of them that I'll use KDE Plasma as my main DE, I just really like it, the thing is that I want to try it on my current machine, which is an MSI Laptop with an Nvidia graphics card, an RTX 2080.
I've found that two popular distros that can use Plasma as a default DE are Fedora and Kubuntu, so my big question is, which one suits me better for this particular machine ?
I've tried doing some research beforehand but I tend to find more questions than answers (lol), so I have two main concerns regarding the distros.
- Will I have any problems with Nvidia drivers in any of these two distros ?
- Is there any specific software to install/manage nvidia drivers ? Should I do it manually via CLI or is there any GUI alternative ?
- Which of these two will be a better "out of the box" (or as much as it can be) experience ?
I plan on doing some heavy gaming on this machine, so GPU instability is one of my concerns, is there some other issues I might be missing (ex: audio drivers issues or similar ?).
Thx!
