Discharged but confused about pending repayment plan?!
Like many of you, I am in the group of post class members. I JUST checked studentaid.gov and discharge of the majority of my federal student loans reflects in my balance YAY!
I’ve been checking like clockwork to see if I can figure out what my new payment will be now that forbearance is coming to a close as I still have loans from undergrad that won’t be discharged.
I know that SAVE is a goner come July but the language I’m seeing on studentaid.gov vs my servicer (Aidvantage) is throwing me for a loop. Prior to SAVE I was on the PAYE plan. Studentaid.gov lists the PAYE plan when I look at my homepage. I have a document from Aidvantage from 10/2025 that says because of the court action with DoEd, I don’t have to recertify until 12/2027.
I don’t want to assume the payment amount will be the same if I take no action, but I’m fearful that if I don’t do anything they will put me on the standard repayment plan that I cannot afford.
Is anyone experiencing anything similar? TIA!
