Activists have always been pressuring the ruling parties to pass a special law for honour killings, and only recently, the Basha commission was established to draft the bill. Now, a majority of lock-up deaths are in some way an expression of upper-caste oppression upon the lower-caste victims on unlawful grounds. So, shouldn't this be encompassed in the honour-killing law?
P.S. I hope the law is passed; otherwise, this argument is moot.
