Element 2 boot issues

Element 2 boot issues

This Element 2 board that I’m lighting a show from suddenly went to this screen 15 min before showtime (gotta love live theater!) The auditorium manager unplugged the power from the console for a minute and turned it back on. It took a long time to boot up, but it finally did and we’re able to get the show going.

Also, this morning when I walked in, they turned the console on and it went directly to the BIOS screen. He said that it does that every once in a while.

I already briefly spoke to ETC tech support, and they said that the hard drive might be failing and may need to be reseated or replaced

Does anyone have any insight on what might be causing this to happen? Does the console just need to be sent out for maintenance?

How do I get my movers to go into position without the audience seeing?

I’m lighting a dance show and my client wants to rotate between a handful of looks. As you can see in the video, the movers move into position in a very obvious way. They say that they can live with it, but it’s really bothering me. I want to be able to go from my blackout to any other look without seeing the movers go into their position. Any advice on how to make that happen without building an entire show for each showtime? I’d like to be able to go back and forth from cue to cue with the same blackout cue in between cues.

Also, I’m having trouble editing the default “Go To Cue” transition time. I changed the times in System Settings>Cue Setting, but it’s still stuck at 5 second transitions. I also changed the cue times for each individual cue.

I’m using EOS on an Element 2 board. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
