Any advice on coping with predetermined actors? What is the reasoning behind having auditons when the actors have already been chosen? Perhaps this is me being naive but, do you stand a chance with no experience even if you outshine those who have been in the game longer? I recently did any audition for a play. I ask before hand if having an accent is needed with the answer no, it can distract. I did a scene with an actor with the most ridiculous accent I've ever heard. My first thought was no way, it's so distracting. Then they get casted and I got an email about how impressive I was but no role. Following that another actor got cast without being at the audition. Almost 5 hours of auditioning. Is it true that your experience is more important then you true talent? Or wtf? Why spend so much time? Any insight is appreciated. Might delete later. Thanks.
