Hi everyone,

I’ve lived in Galway for a while now and I’ve noticed something, once you’re settled into your relationship and past the "out every night" phase of your early 20s, it’s actually quite tough to meet new couples and friends outside of our institutions such as college or the workplace.

And so I have an idea/a fun experiment to see if there’s a hunger if you will, for this type of thing in our little city.

The concept: I want to match two couples who don’t know each other for a casual dinner in town.

  • Strictly Platonic: This is about friendship, not dating. Just 4 people having a meal and a laugh. An opportunity to make genuine friendships if you're new to the city or if you're already from Galway than to expand your social circle.
  • Curated Matches: You tell me your interests and "vibe," and I’ll match you with another couple I think you’ll actually click with.
  • Low Effort: I’ll handle the logistics and book the table. You just show up and enjoy the food, let the evening unfold and whether or not a friendship blossoms oh well at least you all had a bit of craic, no harm done.

I’m looking for a few "OG" couples (ages late 20s to 50s+) to help me test this out over the next few weeks. Whether you're into the West End food scene, GAA, board games, or just a quiet pint, I want to see if we can make some actual local connections happen.

No apps(yet!), no subscriptions, no awkward small talk with strangers you have nothing in common with.

If you and your partner are up for a double date date with another couple in town, drop a comment below on what you make of the concept and then if interested send me a DM on here and I’ll send you the link to the 2-minute vibe-check form!
