My background: Top 5 IIT 2023 Grad, CGPA 8.8, RMO qualified, Experience: 3 years in the same firm
Perks of the job: Fully remote, UK based team that is highly supportive and lenient, On average just 10-12 hours of work per week, just 1 meeting per week, unlimited leaves
Comp: Around 30 LPA(Bonus included, hike + promotion expected this year), Colleague in the same position with running strategies got way more total comp, I did barely any research of my own, just kept supporting the existing stuff, could drastically improve my comp with effort and new strats, also the last 2 years were down years for the team and hence overall comp low
I have been preparing for quant roles on and off for some time now, but never able to make up my mind to fully commit to any other role, since everything is just too easy and comfortable here, high dependency so extremely low chances of layoff, full use of AI allowed.
Have access to and learnt numerous winning MFT strategies, but did not come up with any real winners on my own.
Have easily cleared rounds for Sell Side quant roles for banks with probs/stats, DSA and puzzles prep, but avoiding these roles.
Just want an honest opinion from everyone, what to do in my current situation, how would you proceed from here?
