Mounjaro Break

I had to get off of MJ for two months due to a colonoscopy, and then they needed to do another one two weeks later to follow-up on something they saw. Turned out to be nothing. So, I had to be off of MJ to prepare for these procedures, and then I just stayed off it a little longer. Here is what I noticed.

Granted, I was only at 2.5mg. I continued to lose at this dose, so I just stayed at 2.5 for 18 months and lost 80lbs. Why take more than needed? Anyways, I didn’t notice a big difference when I stopped. But, by around month 3, BAM. I had an appetite come back that was huge, I didn’t have this type of appetite before ever starting MJ. And it wasn’t just the appetite, it was the craving of sugars.

I wasn’t being real careful, it caught me off guard and I was eating what I wanted. By month 4, I was up around 10lbs from where I left off when I stopped MJ. I decided to go back on 2.5mg of MJ, do a 30-60 day reset, and then try getting off it again but this time be prepared and have the right mindset to deal with the effects of being off of it. So, I went out and had a big breakfast at 10am, and took my first shot back at noon. Big mistake. Because the shot slows down your GI tract, if you have a belly full when you take the shot, you will get very nauseous because all that food just sits there. Within 8 hours of taking shot, I was miserably nauseous. It was so bad that I was waking up in a sweat from the nausea. I seem to have a low tolerance for MJ. I lost more weight than most on such a small dose. So, by day 5 I felt normal again and what I have decided to do is try taking the shot every 14 days, and I will start with 1.5mg and see if it helps at all. If it doesn’t, I’ll go to 2.5mg. The weaning up to 2.5 will probably be less shock on my system anyways. But, some bodies are just more sensitive to MJ and even a small dose can take the wind out of your sails. So, don’t take the shot with a full belly. Try to take it on an empty stomach, and go easy that day on the eating. That may help with anyone’s nausea. Also, if you want to get off of it, be prepared for a possible huge spike in appetite; and this could happen as late as month 3 like it did for me. Have a plan, be prepared, have the right foods in your home.
