Hi all,
I’m based in Belgium and recently had an in-ground pool installed (8m x 4m). It’s a concrete pool with a liner and proper insulation. Because of the Belgian climate, I also have an integrated aquadeck cover, which fully closes the pool when not in use. This helps with both safety and heat retention and has some kind of panels to help heat up the water.
I’m currently looking into robotic pool cleaners and trying to figure out the best option.
My pool installer provided me with the Norsup AquaRacer One, but I can’t find much information or many reviews about it online. The mobile app also feels quite limited. It seems a solid unit (based on ChatGPT), but I’m wondering if there are better alternatives.
What really caught my attention is the WYBOT S2 Solar, mainly because of its docking station where the robot can recharge itself. The idea of simply leaving it in the pool and letting it run autonomously for days sounds ideal, especially if it can recharge whenever needed. The solar feature is a nice bonus, but for me it would be even better if the docking station could also be powered directly, so the robot can reliably recharge regardless of sunlight. Just like how a robot vacuum or garden robot works.
So my questions are:
- Is the self-charging/docking concept actually reliable long term?
- Why aren’t more brands pushing this (it feels like a no-brainer)?
- Would something like the WYBOT S2 Solar realistically work under an aqua deck, without needing to open it?
- Or am I better off sticking with a more “classic” robot like the AquaRacer and just charging it manually?
Would love to hear real-world experiences or recommendations.
Thanks a lot!
