I’ve been watching a lot of police bodycam videos lately, particularly ones involving high speed chases. I see officers pit or attempt to pit suspects in highly populated areas like downtowns, or highways with heavy traffic, and the suspect is often going upwards of 90-100+ mph.
Every single time I see it I’m like, “Surely there was a safer alternative, right?”
It got me thinking, do you think the pit is used too much and too often nowadays? When do you personally draw the line and say “it’s not a good idea to pit this suspect?”
Thanks!
