Is Nursing as bad as they say now?.
I am finishing my HNC in healthcare and have been given conditionals to do mental health nursing in Scotland. I have been having second thoughts about going into MH nursing. Everything i see is how bad nursing currently is right now and that the system is worse than ever, from social media, and the general state everyone knows the NHS has been in.
I am wondering if it is actually worth my time and mental health going into MH nursing. I am currently on placement in the ADULT branch on nursing. I see a lot of burntout Nurses and clinical supports and combining this from everything i have read and seen online i am extremely discouraged.
I have been deeply passionate about mental health and going to be a mental health nurse for a long time now but i just dont know if it is worth it and if my expectations will be crushed. Any advice or comments would be very helpful.
