List of things that helped me after surgery

It really helped me before surgery to see what everybody bought for their recovery and so I thought I would list some of the things I bought that have worked out well for me.

I have these grabbers everywhere. They’re really handy and they’re able to pick up dropped pills. I have one long one and then these short ones throughout my home.

RMS 2-Pack 21 Inch Grabber... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DQ9K4JP4

This fit my leg perfectly and made it comfortable to sleep on my back. I’m a side sleeper. I’m still using it when my leg feels swollen.

TranquilRelax Leg Elevation...

This machine stays cold for a long time. The only downside is it doesn’t have an intermittent control. It’s either on for only 15, 30 or 45 minutes or continuous. I ran it continuously for the first three days then the PT told me I could do damage by icing it 24/7

Cold Therapy Machine for Hip, Ice... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0GKDQ88KP

I have this ice pack for when I’m downstairs. It stays cold for a long time.

Magic Gel Hip Ice Pack Wrap -... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B081NP7YZV

This came in really handy when I was doing my heel slide exercises. I’d put it under my foot and it made it easier to start doing them. My PT told me to stop using it after a few days.

I found that I can’t take the oxycodone because of a side effect and my question is: when everybody says stay ahead of the pain, does that mean taking pills to have no pain or is some pain OK and normal? I have pain doing my exercises and walking—mid-thigh pain and groin pain. I was able to do the hip abductor exercise this morning, but with a lot of pain.
