Hi everyone,

I'm hoping someone here can point me in the right direction. My great-aunt recently passed away, and we have her Samsung Galaxy A55 5G which is locked with a PIN/password that nobody in the family knows.

Her funeral is on May 11, 2026, and we need to notify her contacts – many of whom we don't know personally. The contacts are stored on the phone, and we have no other way to reach them in time.

**Our situation:**

- Device: Samsung Galaxy A55 5G

- The phone is locked (screen lock / PIN)

- My father held legal power of attorney ("Vollmacht") for her under Swiss law, and as her next of kin he is legally authorized to act on her behalf and access her belongings

- We are not trying to bypass any security for unauthorized purposes – this is a genuine family emergency following a bereavement

- We do not know if a Samsung Account or Google Account was set up on the device

**What we've already looked into:**

- Samsung Find My Mobile – we don't know if it was activated

- Third-party unlock tools (Dr.Fone, 4uKey, DroidKit) – all seem to result in data loss on newer devices like the A55 5G, which would delete the very contacts we need

**What we're hoping for:**

- Is there any way to access or export the contacts without losing data?

- Has anyone been in a similar situation and successfully contacted Samsung Support with legal documentation?

- Is there a Samsung or carrier process in Switzerland for next-of-kin / power of attorney cases?

Any advice would be hugely appreciated. We're under real time pressure with the funeral approaching.

Thank you.
