People think I'm weird bc I walk everywhere

I honestly think it's weird they don't.

I love walking, I prefer it over almost any other mode of transportation, I always make time for it. Of course I am privileged enough in time and place to do so, but still.

Many people I talk to use their bike as primary mode of transportation. No one thinks that's weird. But when I say, I prefer walking, everyone's surprised.

Why? Does anyone else experience this? I think walking is very natural to humans.

(I live in Europe in a very walkable, beautiful, safe area, so no concerns there)
