Looking for help figuring out furniture layout in a new apt.

I recently moved into a 2bd/2bath from a shared house situation and a lot of the furniture was my roommates, so im semi-starting from scratch.

All furniture pictured can be re-arranged if you have better ideas (including the mounted TV), so please hit me with your ideas and thoughts. I know I need artwork and plants and rugs, so any advice on those would be amazing, but I want to figure out the furniture layout before I get into the finer details.

I also don't have a dining room table yet, so really my top priority is figuring out the best option for that. In the tool below I have some of the tables/shapes I was considering, ive got it narrowed down to one of the two options there (the shorter table extends out to the one with leaves.

The door near the kitchen leads out to an attached Garage. The main entrance is in the living room. The steam trunk is going to be replaced with a media unit.

The couch is likely going eventually be replaced as well since its cat-scratched/stained and nearing 10 years old. It will possibly go into my office.

Ive been using this Ikea Kreative tool to get an idea for space, so feel free to use this link if you want to play Sims, but I dont NEED to buy from Ikea, this is just for ideas to picture the space I have.

Thanks in advance!
