My wife and I will start building our own home soon. I want to add some automation to it, but don't want to pay too much and make it more complicated (in terms of money, but also wiring effort and time), so I'm not planning on installing a KNX system.

Regarding IoT connectivity of lighting in the kitchen & living room areas, I'm thinking to instead install bigger wall boxes (for the typical light switches) and just add IoT modules (such as Shelly or Sonoff) to then connect them to Home Assistant.

This is my current plan, although I've not given it much thought so far. Do you have any suggestions in favour or against this setup?

As per the title, which way do you consider most practical and effective when it comes to cleaning large glass windows? First wiping the dust away (for the outside glass) and then using a cloth and window cleaner just takes so long. Should I buy a squeegee and a square bucket to dip it in? Is there a robo alternative that does a good job (even though they may be quite slow)?
