This is my painting

I need some help so I do not ruin my painting. I used acrylic paint on a mdf board around half an inch to an inch thick. I was originally going to seal it with mod podge but on a scrap piece of mdf I hated the finish.

I would like to use resin for it after I finish sanding the painting. I am not sure where to start or what to buy as I have never used resin before, not even sure if this is the right choice.

Oh and, the stripes are masking tape painting so there is a tad bit of thickness from it.

Any tips? Thanks!
