As a road cyclist, today I climbed to Pisgah Inn from my home in Candler.
During my ride, I saw:
* one motorcycle accident where some dude took a corner too fast on his crotch rocket coming down the Hwy 151 switchbacks
* at least FIVE near head-on collisions where a motorist crossed the double line to get around me rather than obey the annoying, time-consuming law and protect others from injury or death.
Seriously, drivers. WTAF?! You couldn't wait a few more seconds for more safe passing conditions?
This is very common. It happens multiple times each time I ride.
In one rich experience, one of these near misses was caused by a vehicle with this bumper sticker:
"Please be patient. Student Driver."
What's it going to take, people?
