Kneecap - Cork - Live at the Marquee 2026

Our guest this week is KNEECAP. The Belfast rap trio have become one of the most thrilling and provocative acts to emerge from Ireland in years, known for their sharp, politically charged lyricism, chaotic energy, and unapologetic celebration of the Irish language. Their self-titled film earned widespread critical acclaim, and an infamous Coachella set last year cemented their status as one of the most electrifying live acts in the world. This week, they release their brand new album FENIAN. On today's episode, Mo Chara joins us to talk about recording the album during one of the band's wildest stretches yet, what first drew him into making music, and why the celebration of native languages sits at the heart of everything Kneecap do.
Simple as.
I've seen 'em more times than I care to count, but this one, it was special. I can see me in the video haha. Belfast, SSE Arena Dec '24
There was SO many warnings sent out before the gig. Don't do this, don't wear that, and if you do that...SHAME!!
A lot of the merch couldn't be sold at the gig. Two venues got cancelled for selling merch, before one could, a mile away from the venue. Everything about this day, it felt like resistance against the coontz. A lot of merch that was sold at the venue, was censored.
I'm old, but jaysus, the childer were so well behaved and had the feckin' time of their lives this night
THE FENIAN'S WERE IN THE CITY!!!
Right, I hope this is ok with mods, if not, quick, delete it!!
Ok, so I have at LEAST five download codes I'm never going to use. I might have more, I don't know yet. BUT.
Saying the hard work is done for the week in regards to the charts, and that they did say get the album any way you can. I'm happy to send a code to you, if you honestly and genuinely are facing hard times financially or if things are just straight up tough. It's a struggle out there in these times. I don't need too, or want to know, and I don't need a X-factor sob story. All I ask is, pay it forward at some point when you safely can.
I'll message the codes over tomorrow, as I couldn't be bothered going upstairs and grabbing all the codes tonight haha, so all I ask is, wait til tomorrow, I'll have them sent to you before lunch.
IF I get more, I'll make a note in here. Just please be genuine, I know that can be a big ask, but hey ho, let's go!
Also, if you don't want to post on here, just send me a message.
Hey, it all fecking counts!

Now that I've got your attention.
I pretty much did the Leo pointing meme when I noticed this. Obviously "Occupied 6" has lots of references to life in the troubles, and The Undertones, but this one really made me smile. It's obviously a rebel song and some can take it as "offensive" but, just love those little easter (rising) eggs!
