Hey Trainers in SPAAACE!!! Day 8: Atvatabar II

Hey Trainers in SPAAACE!!! Day 8: Atvatabar II

Typo, this is Day 7

Our meeting with the wayfaring psychic-types finished, the ExUM Unity approaches the next planet on our trek through the stars, Atvatabar II. Originally observed to be a cold, lifeless waste, an asteroid impact has broken some of its crust, revealing that not only is it totally hollow, but that a hot, lush, jungle world exists inside, sustained by the ever-burning light of a titanic Totem Volcarona at the planet's core.

The ExUM Unity, on flying in through the asteroid impact, reveals a world akin to prehistoric earth, but a mass of ancient ruins, possibly of human make, is where the ExUM Unity will be landing. The event today is exploring the ruins and the jungles around it. Travelling down these huge, primal corridors may net you an encounter with various Pokémon, areas of interest, ancient relics, and possibly even more. Spending two slots to start the event will give you one encounter, but every slot spent after that will give you an extra encounter.

The limit on team size now is 4, and the level is 15 unless you trained in the holodeck yesterday.

Hey Trainers in SPAAACE!!! Day 6: Wayfarers

Demeter I is now far behind, but the whole galaxy awaits ahead of us! As the ExUM Unity blasts off through the space between worlds, the crew is free to go about their days as usual, no mandatory event hogging the attention. A good day for getting any Pokémon that crew members caught on Demeter I used to the ship and how things work!

However en route to our next destination, a second ship sidles up alongside us, matching speed and requesting permission to dock. Allowing them on board, we meet Thiane, the Beheeyem piloting the ship, along with two Elgyem she calls her apprentices! How is she talking? Telepathy of course, as is standard for psychics.

As a two-slot event today, while Thiane is sharing star charts and navdata with us, trainers interested can train with either Tianma or Tianva, the two Elgyem, to unlock either one's latent telekinesis (Tianma) or telepathy (Tianva) respectively for use later.

  • For humans, this allows you to either telekinetically force one attack to miss per day, or telepathically bolster the emotions of your Pokémon to cure one status condition a day.
  • For ultra spacians, this allows you to either telekinetically home in one attack to be a critical hit per day, or telepathically inflict a status condition (confusion, sleep, or infatuation) once per day.

Regardless, over the course of the events at Demeter I, everybody's Pokémon are now level 15 as a base.

After yesterday's excitement of a new planet and many new friends to join our crew, the ExUM Unity is ready to be refueled, reloaded, and blast off for the next leg of our journey by the end of today.

However, that's not to say we're leaving too soon! We actually landed just in time for one of Demeter I's harvest festivals, and crew members are encouraged (though not obligated) to participate in its games and contests for various prizes.

Unlike the usual events, the harvest festival only takes up one slot of your day, but can be chosen multiple times since each slot can only be spent on one game or contest. Describe how your team will try to win your event, whether through strength, speed, typing, or special attributes unique to your Pokémon, and the High Chieftain of Demeter I, Harvey, will tell you what you've won.

  • Game: Turnip Toss, done with all kinds of vegetables, not just turnips, the referee throws a whole bushel of produce in the air, and the Pokémon has to catch as much as they can before it hits the rug set out. Heavier vegetables and bigger numbers of them caught earn more points, but once the Pokémon or the last thrown vegetable touches the rug, the game is over. Referee: Simisage
  • Game: Carrot Keep-Away, a crown of woven vegetables is put together and then atop the Pokémon's head, and they must run or fly as fast as they can, while remaining in the boundaries of the farm, to avoid the other Pokémon trying to grab the crown. Whoever grabs the crown first, or whoever keeps it through the whole game wins. The area here is a wide, flat field. Referee: Simisear
  • Game: Helter-skelter Hide-and-Seek, the referee covers their eyes and waits for a minute, enough time for a Pokémon to run off and hide at its trainer's order, whichever Pokémon is hidden the longest wins. The area here is a coastal farm with a large house, some sheds, the beach, fields, and sea caves as hiding places. Referee: Simipour
  • Contest: Plough Race, a test of strength, stamina, and only a little speed, each Pokémon is rigged with a heavy plough and must race to the far end of the field. Rushing will only make it harder to pull, but the goal is still to be the first across the field. Referee: Simisage
  • Contest: Bric-a-brac Brickwork, a test of strength, precision, and expression, where Pokémon stack large stones in a way they won't collapse, and indicate a set shape of their or their trainer's choice. The best stacks of stones are those that most closely resemble their chosen shapes, and are welded into set statues for future generations to enjoy. Referee: Simisear
  • Contest: Flashy Slashing, a test of speed, precision, and sharpness, where Pokémon rapidly dice up vegetables with their claws, horns, or whatever other sharp appendage they have. The finer the dice, the higher the score, as the diced vegetables are made into soup later. Referee: Simipour

With the Space Pirates warded off by our crew's impressive efforts, which bumped everyone's level up to 10 now, the ExUM Unity can continue her journey, and today she touches down on the first planet charted, Demeter I, a planet of wide, shallow oceans which has not just life, but human beings on it!

The inhabitants of this planet were teleported here in a clash between Legendary Pokémon on earth generations ago (and with how common those are, it's likely this won't be the last planet with humans on it we'll encounter), and adapted to the ocean-covered planet by settling on its equatorial ring of land. Their farms are so large one can even see their fields from space!

The people are easygoing and relaxed, with no dedicated battle systems and hardly any unrest among their society. The domestic Pokémon transported alongside them are not the first generation of Pokémon in this land, and indeed Pokémon from across time have ended up in the seas, though modern Pokemon make up the bulk of the population.

Today's Event is Pokémon catching for anyone who doesn't have a second partner, or who wants a third (but we won't allow fourth members just yet). Going about, you'll encounter three Pokémon here, either farm-based ones on land, or a seafaring Pokémon in one of the three seas, with the possible encounters being different for each sea. NOTE: You only get to catch one Pokémon from this planet!

Remember, the schedule is one free slot, two slots you can spend on today's event (or for more facility use if you don't want to/can't catch a Pokémon here), and four slots for your work with one of those slots being free for each Pokémon you have who matches your work's type.

Another day dawns, our first in open space between solar systems, and our first discovery has come to us! A fellow spaceship rises up towards us, smaller than ours, but dark and jagged, but we shouldn't let our preconceptions cloud first contact!

Hailing them, we're greeted by the visage of an Ultra Spacian crew, though their first words are quite unfriendly indeed: "Prepare to be boarded, ya sad sack o' Poliwags! Yer pretty little ship and all her goodies belong to us! The Space Pirates!"

A surge of energy reads off their ship, and in a flash, every crew member is staring down an Ultra Spacian member of the criminal element in the greater galaxy, Space Pirates! It'll take quite the effort to bid our unwelcome guests farewell, a Pokémon battle which will take up two slots of the day on top of the work you do, but crew members in the security division can battle one or two more Space Pirates using their work slots for extra XP.

You can use your facility slots (remember, 7 total, four for work minus one per team member of your division's type and two for today's event) before the battle, after which you describe your team, the Space Pirate will describe theirs, and you finally reply with your strategy to defeat them will see if you can repel the invaders!
