KEEP GOING

Dear Beginner skater

Coming on here to say, with 10 years of skating under my belt, keep going on those days that feel rough and you don’t want to do anything. It’s okay, just don’t take too much of a break while you’re able-bodied. Also, all the glitz and glam you see on social media about skating is all show. I recently picked up yoga, and it’s opened up a new perspective on skating for me. I am doing this because the younger me always did what everyone told me to do. Doing this thing called skating alone, feeling socially outcasted, is a part of the process. There are going to be phases where it’s just you and your skates. You’re going to get injured hopefully not , take breaks, but stay consistent. The more I’m learning to love myself, the better and more rhythmic and a release it becomes. So to all my new skaters, keep going. Don’t let the outer world affect your progress ❤️ do you. So happy to see all the new faces in skating be safe 🕺🏾
