Requesting for games like Animal Crossing
I played some time killing games in portrait mode and thought that animal crossing is the obvious choice, but after a few days of playing, helping animals, moving the small amount of furniture I have, creating a character design that I like, and having level 11 I feel like this game doesn't have anything interesting gameplay wise and a quadrillion of chairs and bookshelves. Like everything I do is just taking the same resources to animals to make furniture that I might like. There are beginner goals but I finished almost all of them and only thing why I keep playing is because of the cute friendly lovely animals that make me feel loved and needed, I'm interested in what cabin will look like, and I want to unlock ankha just because it's funny.
Requirements: singleplayer and offline, paid or with purchases that don't make the game a grind, playable in portrait orientation, having a goal and interesting things to do, cozy vibe.
I hate the word cozy because every new indie game that comes out is called that.
Stardew Valley is a no for me because lf the landscape orientation and artstyle, I just don't like how it looks. for the comparison I like terraria very much so it isn't because it's pixel art. Also it would be good to be able to have long and short sessions to leave anytime and log back anytime.
