Café Brule's Employment of a Pedophile

I find Café Brule's employment of Stephen, a convicted pedophile, absolutely appalling. But what's perhaps even more appalling is all the locals who defend it. I saw a post on the area Facebook page yesterday about it. A parent was just asking if he was still employed there because it sounded like she enjoyed the food but didn't feel comfortable bringing her kids there while he still worked there. Entirely reasonable in my opinion. The number of people in the comments not only defending Brule, but the pedophile himself, was astounding.

People around town here complain about having a negative relationship with the university. This is part of the reason why. When a handful of wealthy families control the largest businesses in town, you're bound to get some messy small town politics, but allowing a convicted pedo (he raped a 9 year old girl) to work at a "family restaurant" and then immediately shutting down and shunning people for calling it out is disgusting.

Shame on Brule and shame on the town for not taking this stuff more seriously.
