Should part of boycotting the system involve using cash (instead of credit) almost always

I feel like banks are a lot of the problem. And, that credit cards can be a trap to cause people to spend more.

So, I was wondering if in addition to all of the places we are boycotting, it would also help to use cash more often.

I am in New York. While I am pretty independent, and often vote third party, I do enjoy many of the stances of NY Governor Kathy Hochul. (Though, there are also a few bad ones, such as nuclear power.) She recently signed a law that makes grocery stores and retailers accept cash. And, I was realizing that such a law could help facilitate a boycott of credit cards and banks.
