OCs and Redemption

OCs and Redemption

Art by: Pepites

I'm curious about the mindset of people's characters. Been lurking a bit and was curious how and if people thought their characters might handle the topic of redemption, either their own or a foe's

FOR PEOPLE WITH EVIL OCS:

Could you ever see your character becoming redeemed? Would they even accept the opportunity if it came up? What would need to happen? Would the people they've hurt forgive them or even let them try?

FOR PEOPLE WITH GOOD OCS:

Could your character learn to forgive an evil character? Are there some lines that go into unforgivable? Is there someone they have forgiven in the past or something they would, if said person/being made an apology?

My own OC:

As for my own character: Aziriihasi is a rakshasa, led a rather terrible life and died. Instead of being banished to the hells for her just punishment something went wrong and most of her old memory and personality was scorched away but her 'essence,' or one could say soul managed to wiggle free and get lost in the cosmos.

Later she grew into a rakshasa with no knowledge of who she was or what she did in her previous life. However, in her current she's not the best person. She's petty, vindictive, prideful, and selfish. I wouldn't qualify her as a true villain going out to spread misery for misery's sake or some greater dark cause of world domination. But she's self interested and has little in the way of kindness or desire to help out of altruism but if it benefits her then sure, why not.

I mention this because while rakshasa are earthbound fiends and subject to the same rules of rebirth that most celestial entities are they are unique from other monstrous creatures because if they truly manage to turn over a new leaf they can shed their forms and either opt for another go-round as a mortal or to serve as a celestial being instead.

So I was curious how do you all handle morality and redemption for your OCs.
