I am currently using beta.

Things I like so far

Car screening : this is nice feature, but the down side it's doesn't work if some one is calling you using VOIP Number

Direct voicemail : it's a nice feature I love it but just 1 down side , if someone call using voip number it's will go to regular visual voicemail doesn't come in direct voicemail.

Apple airdrop compatibility: I love this feature finally j can drop to my iPhones friends

Multi Sim Switch: the one feature Samsung has but not for us user was ablity to select what sim for data and sms and switch swim instantly through control centrel or whatever it's called

Blur looks : it's nice but I wish Samsung has some blurr looks through their UI similar to iPhone liquid glass but better ..

Speed and performance: it's beta I understand it's will improve but I think they need clear more lagging out and more optimized

Battery optimization: new one UI 8.5 has improved in battery life I wish they work on this more it can be more better .

Control panel : I like how it can customize the panel I wish same make little change little better animation in toggle more bold look , and in control I would like a glass or transparent look when I move it down

It's getting better

I was an Apple user for \~15 years before switching to the Z Flip 7 about 7–9 months ago. Overall, I’m still really enjoying it. The phone is fragile (I’ve broken it twice), but Samsung Care made the repair process smooth—similar experience to AppleCare.

The biggest difference I’ve noticed is still app optimization, especially social media camera quality and gaming performance. Apple is still ahead in this area overall.

The biggest difference I’ve noticed is still app optimization, especially social media camera quality and gaming performance. Apple is still ahead in this area overall.

Quick app breakdown:

Snapchat: At launch it was really bad. It has improved over time. Reinstalling from the Galaxy Store helped a bit, but it still doesn’t fully use the camera’s potential.

TikTok: Slight improvements since I started using it, but not a huge change. Interestingly, TikTok Lite seems to have better camera output than the main app.

Facebook/Messenger: Getting better, but still not stable. Reels especially can lag or crash sometimes.

WhatsApp: Works fine and is stable for daily use.

WhatsApp: Works fine and is stable for daily use.

Gaming:

Games downloaded or optimized via the Galaxy Store do feel better optimized compared to Play Store versions.

But overall, Apple still feels more consistent in performance optimization.

For example, PUBG Mobile from the Play Store can sometimes lag or feel less stable compared to a more optimized Galaxy Store version (when available).

General take:

Apps from the Galaxy Store (when available and updated) tend to perform smoother. However, many major apps are still only on the Play Store, and optimization varies a lot.

Samsung has definitely improved over time, but social media + gaming optimization is still where iPhone leads clearly.

Wish list:

I wish more apps were available on the Galaxy Store with better optimization specifically for Samsung devices. At the same time, I also wish major apps already on the platform—like TikTok, Snapchat, and other camera-heavy apps—would fully use Samsung hardware to its maximum potential. That would make a huge difference in overall experience.

Z flip 7 camera quality on tik tok main app sucks but the tick tiktok lite app (download direct from Samsung Galaxy store) is good (much better).

I tested multiple times and the lite app camera is much better than the main tiktok app on Z flip 7.

This is surprising it doesn't make sense.

If the lite app can be optimized for Z flip 7 the main tiktok app should be also.
