DualSense Edge - free software for button combo mappings while keeping native haptics on PC?
I've been playing Resident Evil remake games recently and found that switching weapons with the d-pad in combat is annoying as hell. The previous games don't have DualSense features, so I just set this up in Steam Input but Requiem just added DS support on PC and it's great. I wanted to set up a button combo for Requiem that will treat my triangle/circle/x/square buttons as d-pad arrows if a paddle is held, so I can switch weapons without letting go of the movement stick. Obviously, Steam Input can do this, but then I lose the native haptics/triggers. I could work around this with Steam Input by only mapping the combos I want, launching the game without Steam Input enabled, and then enabling Steam Input (it's a workaround that works on many games with native DS support, I mostly use it for gyro aiming), but then the game would see inputs from two different controllers essentially and I feel like that's too much of a hassle/asking for issues.
I managed to set this up in a trial version of rewasd, but the full version costs like 40 euros, which is a lot of money for such a tiny feature (all the other features of rewasd that I care about I can do in Steam Input/DSX). Apparently they're testing this solution in a closed beta in DSX, but no ETA on when it releases.
Can anybody recommend a free app that would let me make button combo mappings without losing the native haptics?
