TIPS: If your laptop/PC have good dGPU but weak iGPU. Thus, making your Firefox feels laggy on heavy websites (Windows)
If your laptop/PC have good dGPU but weak iGPU and Firefox keeps using iGPU. Thus, making your Firefox feels laggy on heavy websites, this might help you.
>this solution can also be done if Firefox insist on using iGPU making your dGPU idle. One thing to note that by doing this Firefox will drain your battery really fast for laptop users. Use at your own risk!
- Find your firefox.exe file path. You can do this by searching
firefox.exeon the start menu and open file location. Choose the "command" firefox.exe
- After that, copy the file path containing firefox.exe
- Go to Windows Settings > System > Display > Graphics
- Under "Custom settings for applications" choose "Add desktop app". Paste the path on the file address bar, select firefox.exe and click Add
- Once added, you will see Firefox among the list. Expand the Firefox section. On GPU preference, choose your dgpu
I know this solution already posted years ago. However, I would like to help present and future user of Firefox to know that this solution is still possible and worked.
