While researching suppliers, one thing that stood out to me was how many ecommerce brands are selling products that are extremely similar at the manufacturing level.

What really separates them usually isn’t the product itself, but how they position it, market it, package it, and distribute it online.

It completely changed the way I think about ecommerce competition. A lot of brands that look unique from the outside are often sourcing from the same types of manufacturers while competing through branding, customer psychology, and execution instead.

It also made me understand why trends spread so quickly in ecommerce once a product starts performing well.

I would like to know if anyone else had a similar shift in perspective after learning more about sourcing or manufacturing.
