*Announcement* RatingsWrapper, StremShare, IMDbRatings. All three addons have moved to a new VPS and new URLs
Quick heads up for anyone using RatingsWrapper, StremShare, or IMDbRatings. I've migrated all three off Railway onto a self-hosted VPS over the past couple of weeks. Performance should be the same or better, and it cuts hosting costs significantly which means I can keep these running long-term without paywalls or ads. Giving Railway all my money was beginning to hurt.
New URLs:
- RatingsWrapper: https://ratingswrapper.kgenovz.com/configure
- StremShare: https://stremshare.com/
- IMDb Ratings: https://imdbratings.kgenovz.com/configure
The old Railway URLs will keep working for the next 2 weeks, then they're getting shut down. If you've got any of these installed, please reinstall from the new URLs when you get a chance. Existing configs will need to be regenerated since the manifest URLs have changed.
A landing page with all three, plus a live status page and change-log, is up at https://kgenovz.com/.
Since we're here, quick rundown on what's new in two of them.
RatingsWrapper
For anyone who hasn't seen it, RatingsWrapper sits in front of your existing meta/catalog addons and injects ratings directly into titles and metadata so you can see scores integrated smoothly into your Stremio experience. Original post here with screenshots -> https://www.reddit.com/r/StremioAddons/comments/1pgwtdr/stremio_ratings_wrapper_inject_imdb_rotten/
What's new recently:
- 9 rating sources supported (up from 2) in Title injection, with color emojis across all of them
- Configure page redesigned as a guided multi-stage flow with live preview tiles using real artwork, and auto-populates from your existing wrapped addons on login
- Episode descriptions for older shows now pull extended text from TMDB and OMDB when Cinemeta is sparse (this a setting you can turn on in configure)
- Movies fall back to scraping Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic when OMDb is missing them
- Strip-only mode to remove a source addon's ratings without injecting new ones
- Performance pass for faster catalog and meta loading
I have fixed 99% of the bugs/issues people were having in the original release. This version should be a lot more resilient to traffic spikes, and be way more complete in rating sources coverage.
StremShare
StremShare is a social layer/catalog management on top of Stremio. Build shared catalogs with friends or family, organize and discover content together, add to lists from within Stremio, and turn watch history into something you can actually look at. It includes full content management (including sorting lists, hiding specific content, and full control over whats in it), list imports from various sources, the ability to combine imports as smart lists that automatically manage content, a full watch history and recommendations engine, and a swath of other nice to have features. This one is my real passion project and I am constantly updating it + using it in my own setup. Please note for the 500+ people already using StremShare, the database has been migrated and you can use your account from the old URL as normal. I am currently working on building out content for the discover page, if anyone is interested in content curation, please let me know!
What's new recently:
- Folders for groups with drag-into-folder UX, manual sort, and multi-select bulk move
- Discover redesigned with auto-detected categories, dynamic facet filters, and genre chips on cards
- Curated moods, brand/franchise collections, and featured-group spotlights on Discover
- Smart lists can mirror their source on sync (replace mode in the import modal keeps your list 1:1 with the upstream)
- Trakt import covers more list sources, and MDBList list search is restored
- Five new poster providers on the addon: RPDB, OpenPosterDB, TOP Posters, TMDB regional, and XRDB
IMDb Ratings continues to work as usual. Please migrate to the new URL at your soonest convenience.
If anything breaks during the cutover, ping me here or Discord. I will be adding a bug report feature to kgenovz.com in time.
Thanks to everyone who's been using these, its been a fun few projects and it makes me happy to see people enjoying them.
